The NSCT (National Skills Competency Test) is an initiative of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan to assess the practical IT skills of computing graduates. It is a computer-based, multiple-choice test, and Virtual University of Pakistan is the testing body that conducts it. The competency areas it covers were finalised by an industry-led technical committee headed by P@SHA, with representatives from academia and accreditation bodies.
Those areas span problem solving, programming, data structures and algorithms, databases, computer networks and cloud computing, operating systems, software engineering, web development, AI/ML and data analytics, and cyber security.
