I am a computer science graduate from Pakistan and the author of everything on NSCT Prep. I studied the same subjects the NSCT covers — programming, data structures, databases, operating systems, networks, software engineering, and more — during my BS in Computer Science, and I have taken the NSCT myself.
Preparing for it showed me how scattered the practice material was: a few PDFs, some videos, and very little organised by the competency areas the test actually covers. I also work as a full-stack developer, so I built the tool I wished I had while preparing.
Why I Built NSCT Prep
The Problem
Final-year CS students preparing for the NSCT usually revise from scattered PDFs, old notes, and random question lists. Very little of it is organised by the NSCT competency areas, and most of it has no explanations, so a wrong answer teaches you nothing.
The Solution
NSCT Prep provides 33,808+ practice MCQs across 10 subjects, organised into topic pages with written explanations, plus a quiz builder with difficulty levels and timers. Subject revision guides and a syllabus map tie it together. Everything is free and needs no signup.
The Goal
To make NSCT preparation structured and honest: practise every competency area, understand why each answer is right, and rely on the official portal for exam rules rather than rumours.
How the Question Bank Is Built
The practice questions are organised around the ten computing areas the NSCT covers, and each one is tagged by subject, topic, and difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard). Every system question includes a written explanation of the correct answer.
A separate collection of university-shared MCQs comes from Pakistani CS students who contributed questions from their own university assessments. Those are shown as they were shared, and some do not have explanations yet.
Official information about the NSCT, such as registration, dates, and rules, is published by HEC on nsct.hec.gov.pk. NSCT Prep is independent and not affiliated with HEC or Virtual University.
Some explanations and articles are drafted with AI tools, then reviewed and edited by me before publishing.
